Walk-Around Inspection
Walking up to your TL12R2 first thing is a great time to perform a walk-around inspection. By conducting a quick visual and operational check, you can avoid potential downtime due to overlooked issues. This practice ensures that your machine is in the best possible working condition.
- Open the engine hood and covers to check for combustible materials around the engine and battery and liquid leakage around the engine and hydraulic devices.
- Inspect the exterior of the machine for any damaged components. Look closely at the lights, attachments, hoses, bucket, bucket teeth, hook, slip stopper, hook mount, handrail, crawler, shoe slide, track roller, idler, canopy, and cab.
- While seated, check the windshield, seat, seat belt, monitor, instruments, and switches for damage. Address any damaged, dirty, or worn parts before operating the machine.
Daily Inspection
Manufacturers recommend a 10-hour inspection to check your machine daily. The best time to do this is in the morning before starting the machine.
- Check the coolant level in the reserve tank and refill if needed.
- Pull out the dipstick and check your oil levels, wiping down the dipstick with a clean rag before replacing it.
- Check the dust indicator by ensuring the red piston is not protruding.
- Inspect the water separator to see if the red indicator ring is floating, indicating that it needs cleaning after the water is drained.
- Make sure your fuel levels are adequate and add fuel as needed while monitoring the sight gauge.
- Inspect the hydraulic oil level using the sight gauge. Remember that the level will fluctuate with temperature, so replenish as necessary.
- Lubricate grease nipples with a grease gun, making sure to wipe off expelled grease.
50 Hour Maintenance

- Inspect and adjust the crawler tension.
