Walk-Around Inspection
- Check for leaks around hydraulic lines, cylinders, and the Quick Disconnect Coupler (QDC)
- Inspect tires for proper inflation (around 36 psi front / 29 psi rear) and wear
- Examine the bucket, cutting edge, and hoisting arms for cracks or excessive wear
- Ensure all safety decals are clean and legible
- Confirm lights, mirrors, and the backup alarm are functioning
- Check that the cab steps, handrails, and seat belt are secure and undamaged
Daily Maintenance (Every 10 Hours)
- Check engine oil, hydraulic oil, and brake fluid levels; top off if needed
- Inspect fuel level and remove water from the fuel filter if necessary
- Grease the articulated pendulum joint, cylinder pivot points, and QDC fittings
- Check air filter restriction indicator; clean or replace as required
- Visually inspect radiator and hydraulic oil cooler for debris; clear as needed
- Verify functionality of brakes, horn, lights, and dashboard indicators
Every 50 Hours
- Replace hydrostatic filter and hydraulic oil return filter cartridge
- Tighten wheel nuts to the recommended torque (about 332 lbf·ft)
- Check battery terminals for corrosion; clean and tighten as necessary
- Inspect and tighten engine mounts, muffler fasteners, and drive shaft connections
- Ensure correct working pressures of travel, steering, and loading hydraulics
Every 100 Hours
- Grease steering cylinders, bucket pivots, hoisting cylinders, and the QDC
- Check and tighten major fasteners on the front and rear axles (about 406 lbf·ft)
- Clean or blow out the hydraulic oil cooler fins to prevent overheating
- Inspect electrical system, including wiring, fuses, and alternator connections
- Check axle oil levels (front and rear); top off if below fill mark
Every 500 Hours
- Perform all tasks from previous intervals (Daily, 50, and 100 hours)
- Replace hydraulic tank vent filters and check the tank for sediment or water
- Inspect and tighten articulated joint bolts (89 lbf·ft) and counter-screws (52 lbf·ft)
- Verify V-belt condition; adjust tension if deflection is more than 0.4–0.6 inches
- Check brake fluid levels and change fluid annually if not done already
- Confirm differential lock function and inspect the differential for leaks
Every 1000 Hours
- Replace or thoroughly inspect the engine air filter (inner and outer elements)
- Flush and refill the hydraulic system if operating in harsh conditions
- Inspect all hydraulic hoses and couplings for excessive wear or damage
- Check tire treads and consider rotation or replacement if unevenly worn
As-Needed Maintenance
- Replace worn hoses, belts, glass, mirrors, and decals immediately upon damage
- Tighten track (if applicable) or wheel bolts beyond scheduled intervals if signs of looseness appear
- Address any coolant, oil, or fuel leaks as soon as detected
- Lubricate door hinges, hood latches, and other moving hardware to avoid corrosion
